Fragz' verdict
The RTX 4080 takes a marginal lead over the RTX 4080 SUPER, with its GPU score coming in just 0.3% higher. While the RTX 4080 shows slightly higher peak clock speeds, memory bandwidth, and raw compute (ALU index), its in-game performance in our Earth II suite is incredibly close, with both cards trading blows in different scenes. It's worth noting the RTX 4080 SUPER only has one verified run, so the sample is thin and the numbers should be viewed with some uncertainty. For a gamer, this tiny difference means virtually identical real-world performance, making either card a top-tier choice.

What the numbers mean
The GPU score is the graphics card's own performance — that is what we rank on. GAMING is the whole rig's score in the best PC we measured the card in, and depends on processor, memory and storage. We show both and never mix them.
All numbers come from our benchmark suite: four hand-built 3D scenes written directly against the graphics APIs in Rust, the same load on every PC. The methodology is open at https://whatfps.com/metodik
